Today August 9th, 2023 the Cambria FireSafe Council held their monthly planning meeting. Below are some of the notes from the meeting. The official Meeting Minutes will be posted soon.
Pinedorado: There will be a new Fire Engine in this years parade. They have received a Retired Fire Engine form the City of Pismo Beach. This vehicle is getting prepared and will be having FireSafe Council members and others from the community.
Fuel Reduction Projects: Covell Ranch unit 2 & 3 to start work this week. Rancho Marino shaded fuelbreak work to begin soon.
District Fire Chief Vincent introduced the new County OES and FireSafe Council funded evacuation zone program Genasys Protect. This program will be used countywide and will create an easy communication tool for the public and first responders during an emergency evacuation. The County OES is introducing the “ Whats your Zone ?” information to the public this month.
Cambria Chipping Event: We will be chipping on Wednesday September 4th, 2023. Signups sheets are available at the Cambria CSD Fire Station 57. You will need to fill out the registration form.
Next Meeting: We are moving our meetings to the fourth Wednesday of the month so we meet after the monthly SLO FireSafe Council. Our next meeting is September 27th , 2023. 3:00pm and Cambria Fire Station 57.
