Keeping Cambria Safe: Join the 2024 FireSafe Community Cleanup & Chipping Event!
Calling all Cambria residents concerned about fire safety! The 2024 FireSafe Community Cleanup & Chipping Event is just around the corner, offering a vital opportunity to reduce fire risk around your property. Organized by the Cambria Area Fire Safe Community, supported by the FireSafe Council of San Luis Obispo County, this event aims to clear combustible vegetation to safeguard homes and neighborhoods.
Scheduled for July 22nd and 23rd, this initiative provides free chipping services for eligible materials, thanks to grant funding secured for the community. Residents are encouraged to sign up at the Cambria CSD Fire Station by July 19th, ensuring their participation and timely chipping service.
To prepare, gather limbs and similar materials less than 10 inches in diameter and no longer than 12 feet, marking them with provided flagging tape by July 20th. This preparation ensures efficient collection and removal, minimizing fire hazards posed by excess vegetation.
Residents are reminded that only approved materials will be chipped, and to check eligibility criteria detailed in the sign-up form available at the Fire Station. Take action now to make your home safer and contribute to a resilient Cambria community.
